In recent years we’ve seen a HUGE increase in the number of small businesses owned by women. This growth has been so dramatic that millions of people now think of a woman when they visualize who owns the businesses they buy from.

If you are a woman in business and listening to the sound of my voice you deserve a big pat on the back for this amazing accomplishment of going out into business. But as is always the case for small business owners, there is still a lot of work to be done.

To make sure that you are providing your business with the fullest opportunities that it deserves creating a business is a MUST with a capital M.U.S.T.

Sure, ten years ago having a site was an option many small businesses could decide if they want to fork out money for. But that is no longer the case. If you’re a woman in business today we’re going to look into the benefits of having a business website and showcasing yourself on the world wide web.

Here’s 5 reasons Why Women In Small Businesses Should Have A Website.

* These days consumers and business leaders are more likely to use search engines rather than the Yellow Pages. We all know that yellow pages have gone online and rebranded themselves as yell. So even better for those brands who are online. When your potential customers are looking for you all they have to do is type the name of your town and your type of business into Google and start their research from there.

If you signup to yell for free you give yourself a better chance of getting found when they are looking for businesses similar to yours.

* A web site lets you put as MUCH information as you want in a public forum.

You no longer have to pay thousands for a big newspaper ad just to let customers know about your prices, new services, or show photos of what you do. Now you can keep all that information available on your web site 24/7 at little or no cost.

There are great platforms you can get started with from wordpress, blogger, square spaces, wix and more.

A word of advice here: if you really want to shine online then using wordpress to build your online profile and website is the best place to start.

It can be a little techy but if you start with a basic template you’ll be able to change it once you develop a level of confidence.

* You know as well as I do that most customers are a little shy about asking questions.

Often they don’t even want you to know they’re interested until AFTER they have learned more about your product, service, or idea.

A website allows that vast number of potential customers to privately and anonymously read all about your business. Then when they are ready to buy, they’ll come forward with their questions and orders.

This is a MUCH more efficient way to do business, which leads to my next point.

* Web based business operations can be EXTREMELY EFFICIENT.

Customers often prefer convenient email over phone or in-person visits. And especially now with our new normal of doing things. Email encourages customers to organize their ideas and only contacting you when they know what they want and are ready to act. You’ll find that your web site will generate many more customers and the customers you get are better organized with what they want and are looking for from you.

* Finally, women love to buy from women-owned businesses.

Women, as a group, tend to be less compulsive shopper than men.

While a large segment of men will buy an item on impulse, the vast majority of women prefer to learn about your product or service, getting all the details they can before placing an order. Web sites are perfect for presenting a lot of information at very little cost.

If you take a look around the brands and businesses that are doing well who are owned by women 9 out of 10 is because they have established themselves online through their own personalised website. I mean you’re here aren’t you?

If you think starting and growing a business is a fluke, it’s not. Becoming successful in business takes a daily practise of simple things done over and over again.

There is no need for reinventing the wheel just daily actions and one action you need to get started on is creating your own personalised website so you can begin to rock in 2021.
